Adios Amigos.

Morning all.

It is with great regret that I have to say goodbye to you…

Only for a few days! Don’t worry.

Yes, moving day has finally come, I’m packing up the last of our belongings today and doing the big shuffle to our new home. Sadly, this means the Internet will be down for around five days (I’m hoping they don’t mean five WORKING days!) so I will be absent from WordPress for a while.

I’m sure that during that time I will be sneaking over to my parents house for a little fix, but that will be more to check out what you creative minds have going on in the Reader than to update The Paperbook Blog.

Rest assured that I will miss you all dearly, I can’t wait to be set up again in our new home, and racing downhill towards issue three.

On that note, keep those submissions rolling in! There is plenty more room for you all, so if you have a little project you’re working on, or simply a scribble or a rhyme that is stuck in your head, jot it down and email it through to jayde.ashe@hotmail.com.

Don’t forget the brand new Letters to the Editor section either! Have some thoughts on The Paperbook Collective? Loved a piece of work in there and want to praise the genius behind it? Write it down and email it through to jayde.ashe@hotmail.com.

IMG_5489Only nine days to go until submissions close for issue three! Jump on board, don’t miss out. Also, if you email me and don’t receive a reply immediately, know that it is only because I am Internet-less for a few days. I’ll be back online before you know it.

As for our move, holy heck I have a lot of books. There is currently six boxes sitting on the floor of our new apartment, looking like refugees in a time of crisis. And I haven’t even moved the Encyclopaedia’s yet. Yes, that’s right, I still have to move an entire set of Encyclopaedia Britannica’s, including two index books and an Atlas. It’s going to be a fun day.

Mother Nature has decided that my moving day is a great time to remind us that Winter is not yet over. It is howling wind and torrential rain here today, which is making moving an absolute breeze (excuse the pun). That lady has a sick sense of humour.

Zeus is settled into her new home, although it will take some getting used to no doubt. She keeps looking at me as though I am playing some sadistic joke on her.

Can we go home now? Her little eyes are screaming at me. Poor girl can’t even go onto the balcony due to the aforementioned torrential downpour outside.

Anyway, it will be all over soon and I’ll be celebrating with, you guessed it, a nice tall glass of gin and tonic. Trust me, I’ll have earned it.

In other blog related news, I am seeing a disturbing notice on the bottom of my blog pages along the lines of occasionally, some of your visitors may see an advertisement here.

I am so sorry about that. It annoys me more than I can say. I hate ad’s on blog pages, but sadly as I am still jobless (uni/magazine is my full time job!) I can’t afford to upgrade. So I apologise if you are forced to look at ad’s here on The Paperbook Blog. I think I might have to start saving for my upgrade in gold coins. I really want to get The Paperbook Blog self-hosted, but that is quite a big expense for me right now. Maybe if you have a spare $2.00 coin you could send it my way…

Or perhaps I could just start selling stuff!

Anyway, have a great week everyone, I’ll miss you!

Cheers,

Jayde.

I love moving house. It’s like the start of a brand new chapter in ones autobiography (if one ever becomes famous enough to write one). Have a great few days!

  2. Happy moving Jayde! Be safe and see you when you’re all settled in, as well as you can be settled after moving lol!! xo Lolly ps. I don’t see any ads but I run software through my browser that kills anything like that. God knows what I’m missing, could be something exciting :O

  3. Have a great moving day…about those notices, I’ve been receiving them as well the last few days…guess this is just another confirmation that we pay for anything and everything in one way or another,,,here the alternative is either one pays to use wordpress a fee or “host” their publicity. The third alternative is learning code and going else where. We’ll just have to see how invasive their publicity becomes…If it becomes as bad as American TV, an alternative will have to be found.

  4. Reading this just reminded me that I am procrastinating packing for my move next week! Good luck with your move!

  5. I’ve never seen ads on your site, though I have on one or two others I follow. They’re really not that bad, so I wouldn’t worry too much. If you do get an upgrade, get the one where you can get money every time someone clicks on an ad on your site. You need a rather large number of followers to qualify for that one, though.

Good luck with the move. Six boxes? Bah! That’s not a lot of books.
