The Paperbook Collective ~ Issue One 2013

Here it is!

It’s here at last!

I’m not going to lie, guys, the past few hours have been out of this world. I have never felt so much adrenaline and panic coursing through my veins in my life. There was much cursing, a lot of praying and moments of downright madness. I kept wanting to rush to the kitchen for a drink but THERE WASN’T TIME!!!

So, I do apologise that this is arriving 26 minutes after 5 pm, but I actually had to reorganise the magazine after I uploaded it, as the pages were not in the correct order.

But, with no further ado, I give you The Paperbook Collective.ย

Want to know about the name? Read the magazine to find out more!!

Here is the PDF version for your perusal:

The Paperbook Collective_Issue One2013

And of course, the online version published through ISSUU:

The Paperbook Collective_Issue One 2013

Please let me know if either of these links are not working, I am brand new to this so I am working on a wing and a prayer right now. It am also in the process of embedding the magazine onto my blog, so stay tuned.

I will be back very shortly with more details, but right now I’m going into the kitchen, cracking the gin and pouring myself a drink the size that no one has ever taken on and survived.

I hope I have done your work justice.

Cheers everyone.

  1. Just downloaded the pdf. Looks BRILLIANT. I think you deserve more than one gin. Congrats. Humungous effort.

  2. Looks excellent! Very eclectic. I’ll have a thorough read of it later. Have you considered, after about five or six issues, compiling them into a proper book? Lulu’s worth checking out for that sort of thing.

    • Great idea! I have been pondering where to take this, so I will check out your suggestion. And see how the magazine goes, of course ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Love this! What Jayde has done with the fonts is just beautiful and I’m proud to have been featured in the first refreshing offering.

    • Jay makes a good point, Jayde. It would be better to put out a Paperbook Collective issue 2-4 times a year than for it to become a nightmarish deadline for you. This should always be something you LOVE to do.

      • A good point John, luckily I am at a point in my life where I have time on my hands. And despite the stresses that accompany producing a magazine, it is something I absolutely adore doing. Isn’t there a quote that goes: ‘if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life’ ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Visiting here from Leya’s blog and so glad I made the trip ๐Ÿ™‚ Congratulations on the first issue! Looks fantastic – now to read up on the contributors.

      • I’m thinking about it, yes! I’ll also pass the link to my writers group. I hope that at least one of us will send you something ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Excellent well I hope you do decide to submit! Still two weeks until submissions close ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. love this idea, and looks very pretty! Have done a cheeky print-out at work to read during my lunch break ๐Ÿ˜€ long live hard copies!
